Major Leagues

What do you dislike about making music and what do you love about it?
Anna: I hate when I can hear a song in my head but I can’t write or record it like it sounds in my head because I don’t have the guitar or vocal skills. I love making music in Major Leagues because it just means hanging out with my best friends.

What goes on in your head when you’re on stage?
I guess it depends on the show. If we are playing new stuff, I’m mostly just concentrating on not screwing up and remembering the lyrics.

What do you get most obsessive about when you’re making music?
I’m definitely not a perfectionist! If something sounds good to me I won’t keep pushing it. I kind of like the idea of the first or second thing you come up with is the most honest and natural. I try not to get obsessive about stuff. Maybe I’m just lazy!

Who’s a local talent more people should know about?
Jaimee’s solo project Pool Shop is really lovely. My friend Jarrod’s solo project Emerson Snowe is also really beautiful and fun to watch.

What’s a quote that made you do something?
‘Carpe Diem’…made me get a tattoo of Carpe Diem. Kidddinnggg. The only thing I can think of is Ferg’s song that he wrote for our friend, ‘Do what you want, always’.

What record do you think you’ve listened to the most times in your life?
Probably the first Bored Nothing album, before I had met Fergus hehe. Either that or Cat Power ‘Moon Pix‘ or Elliott Smith ‘Either Or‘.
